in the waiting line

it’s hard to believe that i’m back in tulsa.  it’s been about a week and a half and yet i’m still adjusting to life back in the states, and all the while trying not to get too settled because i’m only here for a short time!  my 2 months in guatemala went so quickly and i learned so much in my time there.  my spanish has improved greatly, i made wonderful friends, took in some beautiful scenery, and learned a lot about the word, myself, and life in general.

all that to say, thank you to all of you who have supported me and prayed for me while i was at language school.  your prayers and encouragement mean more to me than you could know and have helped me get through the difficult days (because yes, there were difficult days).  a lot of transition has taken place in my life over the last 5 months and so much more is headed my way...so keep the prayers coming!

“so what’s next?” you might ask.  i’m in tulsa for the next 5 weeks before i make the move to reynosa the week of november 23rd.  i will be in the wedding of one of my best friends in mid-november so i am waiting to move until after that.  though this is longer than i initially wanted to be in tulsa, i believe it is working out for the best.  i am being edified by the wonderful christian community that i have here in tulsa and am able to spend time in further preparation.

in this whole process, i have been continually in awe of how the Lord proves himself a provider.  he has shown me again and again that he will take care of me.  he knows my needs.  he’s not going to leave me stranded.  in this crazy journey of faith, i’m learning what it means to really trust him for provision.  yes, there have been bumps along the road.  and i’m positive there are huge potholes awaiting me.  but i wouldn’t trade it for anything, even when i doubt him.

here’s how you can join me in prayer: that my time here in tulsa would be well-spent in time of preparation for reynosa, that my spanish skills would remain sharp, that i would really seek the Lord’s face while i’m here, and that i would grow stronger in this christian community.
